Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Internet? Internet Regulation and the Queer Movement in Lebanon

Context

The EROTICS research in Lebanon investigated the relationship between the internet in Lebanon and the queer women’s movement since the late 1990s till the present day. It aimed to examine the history and strategies of internet usage by queer women in order to better understand the enabling environment of a free and open internet in Lebanon, which is in contrast to highly censoredinternet in neighbouring Arab countries.

An EROTICS call: Survey on internet regulation and sexual rights

Are you member of a non-governmental or a community-based organisation? Are you an academic or a researcher? Do you work within networks or coalitions? Are you an independent blogger? If you are a sexuality rights activist and you use the internet in your work, this call is for you.

The Association for Progressive Communications Women’s Rights Programme (WRP) is developing the second phase of the EROTICS: An exploratory research project into sexuality and the internet and initiating this survey as part of the project.
